This swaying tanjore doll was made as a wedding anniversary gift, from the wife to the husband. The idea behind this is the concept that life would tend to push us but we can always sway back and find our balance.
The entire piece was made hollow in terracotta clay. The main form was thrown on a wheel, in plain speak, made on a potter's wheel. There were a few challenges in making this. You can read all about it here. The piece was bisk fired and painted with acrylics. I hope that you like it.
