Learn Sculpting

Sculpt Monkey Design Studio in collaboration with Claystation Art Studios Pvt. Ltd. offers two ways to learn sculpting.

Sculpting a Human Series (online recorded video classes - in polymer clay):

Creating a statue or a human figurine is a complex task that requires a lot of time and effort. In order to make the process less complex for students interested in pursuing sculpting, the task of creating a complete statue has been broken down into different courses. The whole human body will be broken down in to different modules in this series.

The first installment in this series is the "Head - Level 1". The ideal size that we are going for is 2-3 inches. Because of the small size, we have chosen a versatile sculpting medium, Super Sculpey polymer clay.

The Level 1 series will cover material handling, basic tools (including making your own tools), basic form and anatomy. By completing all the installments of the Level 1 series you will be able to sculpt a full human body as a figurine. The scale will be up to your ability to sculpt small sizes which will improve with practice.

This class does not cover hyper-realism, mold making, casting, painting and action figure joints.

Making a sculpture in natural clay and taking it all the way to surviving the firing process can be daunting for the beginner. We teach you how to handle the clay, build forms, maintain and hollow out your sculpture, right here in Bangalore!

This class will take you through the process of using natural clay (stoneware) to make a bust of a human. The basic anatomy, hollowing out and firing will be covered in this workshop. The ideal height of the final project is 12 inches.

Once you have completed this course, you will be able to make your own sculptures which are need not be only busts of humans. The same techniques apply to making any sculpture with natural clay.

This class does not cover hyper-realism, mold making, casting, painting or glazing. For schedules of batches do visit: http://claystation.doattend.com/ (updated link for July 2017) or you can call Claystation at: +91-8065462094 / +91-9535000629
